‘A TRIBUTE TO QUEEN OF OUR HEARTS’ - LUNCHEON WITH JAAFAR ON AND FRIENDS

Subang USJ, 11th May 2008, Sunday – The Summit Hotel Subang USJ has held a ‘Tribute to Queen of Our Hearts’ in conjunction with Mother’s Day celebration. It was a lively Sunday at The Grand Ballrooom of the hotel with Jaafar Onn and friends.
Mothers were treated with flowers, door-gifts, lucky draws, cooking demonstration, fruits carving demonstration and Mothers of the Day awards.




Jaafar Onn and friends, i.e., Rohani Jalil, Haiza and Salwa performing songs and duets throughout the event, that won the hearts of all guests. Moms and families were treated with scrumptious buffet line with local and western cuisines specially dedicated for moms. Special highlights were ‘Kari Laksa Bonda’ and ‘Mummy Chicken Bolognaise Special’.
The crowd was a good mix of all races, Malay, Chinese and Indian. A unique performance of Face-Changing by Ms. Candy Chong mesmerized the guests. It was a special art from China where the performer changed faces like magic in seconds. This ancient art was first appeared in Sichuan Opera during the reign of the Qing Dynasty Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795). It is now getting popularity among Malaysians.
Also performing was Mr. Chong Sau Lin a veteran Mandarin Singer serenaded mothers with his evergreen songs that was known to everyone. The heights of the event were the awards for Mothers of the Day which was sponsored by Royal Gamat.

LION DANCE VISIT TO MEDIA HOUSES IN CONJUNCTION WITH CNY CELEBRATION 2008




18th-20th February 2008 – In showing appreciation and good relationships with the Media who had been supporting The Summit Hotel Subang USJ and Peninsula Residence All Suite, the management team has paid a visit to Sin Chew Daily, Nan Yang Siang Pau, The Sun and The Malay Mail.
At each Media Offices, they were given a Lion Dance performance to bless the New Year with Prosperity and blessing of a good year ahead. After each performance, the Media representatives and the Hotels’ Management had a Yee Sang tossing to seal the good relationship for the present and the future.

CHINESE NEW YEAR SPRING CLEANING AT THE HOUSE OF GRACE


2nd February 2008, Pandamaran, Klang - An early visit for Chinese New Year to the House of Grace which is home to the destitute women, abandoned and underprivileged at a house in Pandaraman, Klang. The management of The Summit Hotel Subang USJ, Peninsula and 3K Inn all went there to cheer the occupants which mostly are old folks.
After the spring cleaning, the house occupants and the hotel staff together had a Yee Sang tossing and later they were treated to a scrumptious lunch prepared by our own hotel’s kitchen.
The visit was in conjunction of the Chinese New Year, welcoming the year of the rat as part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility activities.

‘A GIFT OF JOY TO THE HOUSE OF JOY’ – A CHRISTMAS VISIT FROM THE SUMMIT HOTEL, SUBANG USJ

22nd December 2007, Jalan Puchong, - The Summit Hotel, Subang USJ today has organised a Christmas visit to the HOUSE OF JOY, situated in Taman Tenaga, Batu 9, Jalan Puchong in the spirit of giving this Christmas Celebration for the underprivileged children. We call it ‘A gift of Joy to the House of Joy’.
HOUSE OF JOY, true to its name has given joy to some 60 over children this Christmas. It is a non-profit charitable home that administers shelter, care and training to orphans, children and teens that are underprivileged, abused, abandoned & neglected, poor, and delinquent. Besides children’s home, they also have shelter homes for underprivileged and destitute old folks. House of Joy has been established since 1st August 1992 by Rev Tang Chee Sing and his wife Lee Ching Mun. Their website is http://www.joy.org.my.
The Summit Hotel, Subang USJ Management Staffs have made a trip down to the boy’s home where a party has been planned to celebrate these children. A White Christmas Tree and presents were brought to cheer the children together with Santa Clause.
The visit was a social obligation that the hotel has pledged in all festive celebrations, i.e. to share a little of our wealth and happiness with the underprivileged.

FESTIVE BLOOD DRIVE CAMPAIGN -“GIVE BLOOD GIVE LIFE”

17th December 2007, Monday- The Summit Hotel, Subang USJ today held a festive blood drive campaign, “GIVE BLOOD GIVE LIFE” in conjunction of the festive season.
The objective of this festive blood drive campaign is to help the National Blood Centre to replenish the blood bank supply during the festive season as more accidents happened and lesser blood donors and people are busy with the preparations to celebrate Hari Raya Haji and Christmas. According to the National Blood Centre, they receive fewer donors and lesser campaign.
“Give Blood Give Life” is part of the hotel proactive commitment in social responsibility in helping the needy in these seasons of giving. The Summit Hotel, Subang USJ is so committed with it’s social obligation, the blood drive campaign will be an annual event for the hotel. The next blood drive will be in August 2008 next year in conjunction with the MERDEKA celebration.

MEDIA WALKABOUT AT THE LOST CITY AND DINNER AT WARONG, THE SUMMIT HOTEL SUBANG USJ

th December 2007, Tuesday – The Summit Hotel Subang USJ and Deyna Technologies Sdn Bhd has jointly organised a Media Walkabout and Dinner which took the media to brave the adventure at The Lost City in The Summit Shopping Complex and dinner at Warong Junction, The Summit Hotel Subang USJ. The joint event was organised in conjunction of the school holiday and the Family Escapade Package of The Summit Hotel Subang USJ that combined Room Package and The Lost City entrance ticket.
Media representatives were briefed by Ms. Teri Choong, Chief Marketing Officer and by Mr. Brian Loo, Chief Executive Officer of Deyna Technologies Sdn Bhd at the Lost City Auditorium. They were given a tour to the Lost City Gallery which featured the artifacts of thousands of years civilizations and finally to adventure the Lost City Walkabout.
Dinner were hosted by Ms. Kartini Ibrahim, Group Director of Marketing & PR, The Summit Hotel Subang USJ at Warong Junction, the hotel’s side walk café where all the guests from Deyna Technologies Sdn Bhd and the Medias were treated to a scrumptious dinner.

FIRE DRILL EVACUATION EXERCISE WITH BOMBA & POLICE DEPARTMENTS

17th November 2007, Saturday – The Summit Hotel Subang USJ has conducted a Fire Drill Evacuation Exercise with the assistant of Bomba and Police Department of Subang and PJ area which involved the mock fire being lighted on the 7th floor of the hotel.
This exercise was to educate and train the staffs on how to handle emergency especially when it comes to fire. They were briefed by Bomba on the safety measures to be taken following the procedures of evacuations, the first aid to be given to the victims and most importantly to head count of each department’s staffs.
According to Mr. Balenthiran, the Head of Security Department, this exercise will be conducted in a regular basis to ensure the hotel’s staffs are hands on when dealing with emergency and to inculcate the trust and credibility of The Summit Hotel Subang USJ towards the hotel’s guests and clients.
